Hermes - April 2016: Flights of fancy

Galleria Grand Hyatt

 Pacific Place

The first posting for my come back time is taken from my all time favorite brand, Hermes. Back to the month of April, Hermes window display in Jakarta were decorated with all the tropical birds, might be local Indonesian birds (I'm not sure). Each window looked amazing with wings and feathers of the birds mostly in dark or earth tone colors. The detail quality of each of the birds were amazing and almost perfect. Bravo!

Hermes: The horse

Finally, there are some Indonesia boutiques that update their window display look for the new season. First of all is Hermes boutique at Pacific Place. The theme is so obvious here that is horse, this Parisian brand is originally an equestrian experts back to long long time ago. Here, you can find the big big winged horse or can be called Pegasus but appears in brown color. The rattan horse is accompanied by Indonesian flat 'lumping' horse, a traditional horse made of, usually, woven bamboo and is used as the Kuda Lumping dance property. Here the lumping horses are made of rattan.. I am not a fan of this East meets West look but it is still a creative approach to be sure.

Hermes: Steel constructions

I never see any Hermes window display that looks very masculine and tough until I visit this brand boutique at Pacific Place. There are steel constructions standing vertically or horizontally that look like building constructions. No cute or colorful objects to accompany those properties except the colorful collections of Hermes ties or scarves. One of the big size scarf is the Carre Cube that might become the inspiration behind this window display concept.

Papilion Duo: Umbrella

Papilion Duo welcomes the Fall 2013 season by displaying umbrella on its not-so-vast but tall window display. Umbrella might symbolize the rain that always accompany the fall season in some countries. However, it is also a more appropriate decoration for the two seasoned country like Indonesia. About the display arrangement, there are three umbrellas hung on top of the three mannequins wearing oversize men-inspired blazer-coat. Behind them are the illustration of a group of people carrying umbrellas.

Galeries Lafayette: Play with Colors

Withing the count of days, Moslem people all over the world will celebrate their New Year including in Indonesia. All the shopping malls are now being decorated with Arabian themed or touch decorations and settings including Galeries Lafayette Jakarta. However, this Paris-based department store does not project the theme literally but in modern approach. Colorful panels with motif inspired by Middle Eastern culture are placed inside each window. Each mannequins inside the windows are wearing outfits with colors match to the color of the panel. Most of the outfits are Indonesian designer's work or brands such as Studio 133 by Biyan, or EdBe by Eddy Betty.
