Ralph Lauren existence in Malaysia is perhaps already established so well that it is now having two boutiques, the first at Pavilion and the new one in Suria KLCC. My best friend took the photos of the second boutique for me when he was in Kuala Lumpur. The display looks more simple compared to Singapore or other countries boutique such as in UK. The main window has white color as the perfect background for the colorful outfits in the mannequins. As accessories are always easier to be sold, there are hanging shelving to display the hand bags or leather goods collection.

Louis Vuitton: Spider web
After exploring the traveling elements, the house's monogram codes, and poetic value in the January display, something unexpected and surprising comes from Louis Vuitton window display look. Insect - living creatures that has no glamour aesthetic, mostly disgusting and dangerous - is becoming the main inspiration. The main windows are depicting a corner of a blank room, perhaps unused one or the owner is too lazy to do cleaning, with a spider web hanging on the walls. LV latest collections of leather goods are just put in a small shelving point, very minimal compared to the spacious window space. This very simple window display decoration is anticipated with ultra artistic light box with all different insects you ever know appear. Those insects are made from bags, belts, scarves, and other Louis Vuitton accessories collection, put and arranged in a certain way and then photographed and photoshop-ed to make the imagery of a mosquito or a bug. Bravo !

Moschino: Cosmetic
It is always a very nice moment to find a Moschino boutique everywhere I travel. The reason is Moschino window display always look as fun and playful as the clothing collection. The latest discovery is at Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. There are cosmetic products like lip stick or nail polishes standing among the mannequins. One of the nail polish bottles are opened and the liquid is coming out. Very feminine concept but not the boring one.

Tumi: Magical suitcase
I always wait for Tumi window display each year since this luggage brand always creates surprising window display design. After last year's white Christmas town, magical suitcase is the core theme for this year's Christmas. White papers birds are flying out of suitcases that are put in the window display. Blue sky with falling white snow become the perfect background to give a peaceful atmosphere. Beautiful.

Ermenegildo Zegna: Legacy of elements
Ermenegildo Zegna is an Italian brand famous for its classic design of men pant suits or tuxedo. The window display at this brand's boutique at Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur, talks about the key elements of this brand. At one of the main entrance, a galactic-round metal installation surround some Zegna products. This moving installation has a very modern design that resemblance the dynamic development of the brand. The other window is displayed with rolls of threads and fabrics all put in formation of metal sticks, showing the any phases of production process for Zegna high quality fabrics. Last but not least, the celebration of Su Misura line can be seen at a small window display where rolls of fabrics, threads, measure tape, and buttons spread out on the ground are displayed elegantly.

Fendi: Golden room
Before I went to Kuala Lumpur, I had already posted about the latest Fendi gold window display I found at Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta. The one in Kuala Lumpur, that is at Suria KLCC, has the same liquid gold process but now it is accompanied by two golden boxes. Those boxes are made of the Fendi gold double F buckles or medallions with red color inside.
Miu Miu: Glamourous salon
The single window display of Miu Miu at Suria KLCC is enough to show the opulence feel of Miu Miu Cruise 2013 collection. A mannequin sits gracefully in a long red dress adorned with turquoise necklace. 'She' sits in a big sofa and matching coffee table with elaborate Baroque style details. The wall behind 'her' is also an extra ordinary one with Tosca green and gold color. To make this little salon look more glamorous, there is a metallic gold chandelier with spiral details as the center of attention. Magnifique!
Prada: Furry season
Pavilion
Suria KLCC
Sasha Pivovarova, a Russian young-mother supermodel, makes a come back after her pregancy hiatus by starring Prada's Cruise 2013 campaign. She looks as gorgeous and fabulous and, of course, skinny as always. Lounging in furry sofa and wearing sporty chic outfits with sparkling crystal details, she makes the collection look more bright. Her pose and the props used on the images are now translated excellently into a window display design. The result might be less luxurious looking compared to other brand's Christmas window display. However, it shows that Prada always stands in its core value and even step fast forward among others.

Chanel: Royal tent
Chanel fashion show for Resort 2013 collection was held at one of the fabulous gardens of Versailles. All the important fashion people or VIP customers sit in tents that were built to protect them from the summer sunlight attack. The tent is of course a special designed one. Like the collection that is inspired by Marie Antoinette style, the tent looks so luxurious as if it is built for the royalties. Ultra light blue with touch of yellow and ivory colors make it looks ethereal. This tent, complete with Louis-style chairs, is now can be seen in the Chanel window displays all over the world. To enhance the look, faux trees are put around the tent. The look of the display is fabulous as any other Chanel windows.

Louis Vuitton: The walls could talk
Starhill Gallery
Suria KLCC
The Gardens Mall
Louis Vuitton might have its global design for window display, but I just know that this brand has specific design of exterior wall for every boutique. There are three grand Louis Vuitton boutiques in Kuala Lumpur. The first boutique is at Suria KLCC that has its iconic Damier motif as the exterior wall. Starhill Gallery's crystal-shape-like building is completed perfectly with the Louis Vuitton boutique in outer end side. The facade exterior is featuring round motif that can be found in the classic monogram motif of this legendary French brand. The last addition of LV at Kuala Lumpur is at the relatively new luxury shopping mall called The Gardens Mall. Simplicity is the only word I can tell when look at this boutique. There is no nerve-breaking graphic effect that form the wall motif. It is replaced with the classic monogram logo in more subtle but still beautifully crafted.

Kuala Lumpur Weekend Escape
Last week I had my first trip to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. It was a short weekend escape full of walking around shopping malls, eating outs, and meeting friends there. KL has some great luxury malls with various branded boutiques and stores insight especially in the Bukit Bintang area which might become the tiny resemblance of Singapore's Orchard Road.
bustling Bukit Bintang area Pavilion
Starhill Gallery
My first stop was at Pavilion with its beautiful fountain outside the main entrance has interesting arrange of high end boutiques gathered in the area called Couture Pavilion. Across this luxury mall, Starhill Gallery with its outstanding crystal facet exterior shape becomes the most luxurious shopping mall in KL with many high end jewelry and watches boutiques inside.
Suria KLCC
Kuala Lumpur has its iconic building that is Petronas Twin Towers, one of the tallest buildings in Asia. This gigantic construction 'protect's a gigantic shopping destination called Suria KLCC with more hundreds choices of boutiques and stores inside.
Christmas decorations inside the chic The Gardens Mall
The last day of my trip was spent at The Gardens Mall, a relatively new luxury shopping destination. It is the younger sister of Mid Valley Mega Mall with might has smaller size of building but more luxurious and more comfortable for me.
All the magnificent window display photos I took during this trip will be published in this blog starting from tomorrow. Hope you can enjoy and can give information about Kuala Lumpur shopping experience more.
