Louis Vuitton: Holiday gifts

Louis Vuitton had released a limited edition collection of handbags and trunks designed by a group of influential people not only in the fashion industry but also in the field of art and architecture. This project is called Celebrating Monogram in which those designers and artists were asked to designed their own point of view upon the classic Louis Vuitton monogram motif. The multi-talented Karl Lagerfeld is feeling sporty this time and comes up with boxing theme collection. The red sole master, Christian Louboutin, put his signature red color and infamous stud, not as sharp as his Loubis, on the body of a bag. Rei Kawakubo always shock her audience, now by burning the front part of the bag to create some holes. If you love modern architecture, you should know Frank Gehry who does not only design the latest Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris but also a very beautiful and architectural box, my wish list. I do not know who is this Marc Newson but he creates a colorful backpacks that I love best. The last collaborator is Cindy Sherman, an American photographer and film director who creates a special trunk with her touch of characters.

Siam Paragon

This collaboration project is now displayed in all Louis Vuitton boutiques all over the world under the holday themed concept. There is a big gift box with its flowing long ribbons and balloons flying around. If the display is showing the Celebrating Monogram collection, the collaborator initial, like K.L. or C.L. or R.K. will appear on the top of the gift box. Beautiful, playful, with a touch of art, architecture, and futurist theme.

Hermes: Animal planet

I did my second traveling to Bangkok last week with the same destinations that are mall, mall, and mall. There were only few nice window displays which caught my eyes this time. One of them is the Hermes window display from Central Embassy and Siam Paragon. Animal planet is the main theme here with horse, (the brand's original business is equestrian), elephants (we are in in Thailand), panda, butterfly, rabbits, and event a duck. Since this French brand is only and always creating beautiful things, the look of each aforementioned animals are beautiful too. Take a look at the butterfly section from Siam Paragon that is included beautiful scarfs acting as flowers. The rabbits are so cute that they have carrots on their ears. The others? Just observe them by yourself to enjoy the beauty of this another creation from Hermes Thailand VM team.

Boss Hugo Boss: Swimming pool

I was so surprised to see the Boss Hugo Boss boutique's window display at Siam Paragon, Bangkok. This formal clothing brand used to have a very serious looking concept and properties but this one is more relaxed. The most obvious idea I could catch was a swimming pool. There are giant light box of a blue water pool with some tires float in some corners. The main window display space is occupied by a group of (female) mannequins that stand or pose in a pool side. Although the concept might look so playful, the choice of colors, especially metallic thing on some properties, make it appears elegance and classy as what Boss Hugo Boss is.

United Colors of Benetton: Colorfun fans

Another fan properties in the window display can be found at United Colors of Benetton in Central World. If Fendi has a hand folded fan, Benetton has machine fan to reflects the more casual and dynamic feel of the brand. The fans come in various style, colors, and motif. The bright green color on the background give a more relax feeling just like standing in front of a fan in the hot summer day.

Fendi: Striped fan

Stripe and other geometric patterns are some of the Spring/Summer 2013 key trends. Besides the full of stripes Lanvin window display, Fendi is also using stripe as main inspiration. This Italian brand develops the stripe motif into a folded-hand-fan-like installation for the window display. Black and white colors of this giant fan blend in nicely with the bright yellow of the background.

Massimo Dutti: Chic furniture part 2

Massimo Dutti window display from Siam Paragon, Bangkok, has the same chic looking furniture objects with those on Jakarta store. However, there is a slightly distinction between them when look at the wall background of the display. Here in Bangkok, the wall has decorative objects in the form of panels or frames with beautiful sketch painting, dried thin twigs, or cut-out panels. They make the appearance of the display look more beautiful and as cozy as a dream house.

Marc by Marc Jacobs: Band

Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2013 campaign is so loud with street graffiti in loudest every colors you know. Thank God it is not used completely as inspiration for the window display, or at least the one I saw at Siam Discovery. The main theme here is a youth (since this brand's target market are young people) music band. There are speakers everywhere and mannequins are carrying electric guitar. The elements of the campaign still can be found in the form of loud colors of shocking pink that dominates the view. There are also pink bricks wall with Marc by Marc Jacobs brand name written everywhere in, once again, graffiti style.
